Filming at Books for Bugs

What has been going on?!

Remember how Books for Bugs all started, over 10 years ago when Bug 1 was just a toddler devouring books.. well now he is all grown up and has helped us produce this film about why Books for Bugs is magical.

The aim of the film was not just to promote us as a business but to also remind children how magical reading can be, the adventures books can take you on and the things you can learn! Part of our 'Where will your book take you?' campaign.

A Unicorn, a Pharaoh and a Beekeeper!

Yes, you read that right! We really did have a unicorn in our warehouse and some cheeky guinea pigs! Never work with children and animals they say, but we had so much fun filming this. All the children were amazing and not at all fazed by the lighting and cameras. They took direction very well and were all excited to share the final video with their friends and families.

The animals however took a few extra takes! Behind the scenes we had staff under the shelves pushing boxes along the row to keep the guinea pigs in who spotted even the tiniest of gaps and of course there was someone hiding behind the chapter book shelves with a large bucket should the unicorn suddenly need to spend a penny! I must say though the unicorn, Misty from Catherine's Carriages, was so well behaved especially having never been in a book warehouse before, was totally chilled! Misty is a pro though and often attends children's parties and events do check out their page if you are local.

And just for reassurance in case anyone is worried we did have a local vet on site throughout the filming.
