Everyone is welcome to come and explore our shelves and find your treasured new books, after all there is no better way to shop than in person!
When are we open?
We have a public open day on the first Sunday of every month (except August)
10am-1pm Open to all
2pm - 3pm Be You Sessions (SEN sessions for active children)
3.15pm - 4pm Quiet Sessions (For anyone who requires a calm and quiet shop)
We also have started to plan this years other special events including under 5's session, themed days and more specialists events such a dyslexia workshop. These will be listed on our new diary page here.
Finally, you can also visit anytime by appointment. Whether you are teacher looking for new topic books, a school wanting to bring in your reading ambassadors for a treat or a parent/carer just looking for new bedtime stories everyone is welcome.
We request you make an appointment just so we can make sure someone is at the warehouse. We still visit schools and go on trips to publishers so there are times when we are out and about and we certainly don't want you having a disappointed trip!
To book an appointment please contact sally@booksforbugs.co.uk
What ages are our books suitable for?
We stock thousands of book for babies right through to early teens. We no longer stock teen and YA books on our website but do have a small section for local visitors in our warehouse.
What payment methods do we accept?
We can accept cash or card payments. Our card machine does have contactless so you can use your phones and Apple pay. We also offer invoice options for schools and nurseries.
Is it accessible?
We are now located on the ground floor with parking right outside and wide double opening doors so we are fully accessible for pushchairs and wheelchairs. We have spaced our shelving out too to make sure everyone can get around easily.
Where are we?
You can find us in Building 12B, Vantage Point Business Village, Mitcheldean, GL17 0DD
What-three-words location is continues.decorator.indoor
How do we find you on such a big site?
We are easier to find that it seems just don't listen to your satnav as it often takes you on a little adventure to locked gates or the wrong side of the site! There are signs like this around the site but here are step by step instructions.
Or even easier, watch us drive the route in here!
Directions:
When you come in the main entrance go straight ahead and look the Books for Bugs signs. Get your children to spot them!
The first one is on the first sharp bend opposite The Range, turn sharp left here (don't go around the bend) and it takes you uphill signposted High Road 11,12,13
Once you get to the top keep going and you will go behind building 13.
Go through the car park and as you go around the next bend you need to go down between the two buildings which are lined with bright yellow barriers.
At the bottom turn left and we are just down on the left hand side next to Hadron Engineering.
Is there Parking?
Yes there is oodles of parking right outside our door. In the event that it is super busy there are several larger carparks situated a short distance away. (Less than 2 minute walk) During particularly busy events we will have staff out in the carparks to help and we will prioritise the spaces outside our door for our disabled guests and those with very young children. Staff outside will have high viz jackets on so please do ask if you need any assistance we are more than happy to assist.
All car park areas on site are FREE!
